4 Tips for how to save money while giving to others during this holiday season.
Holiday Savings and Tips
Tip #1 - Don't buy holiday coffee!
I know this sounds crazy but, let me explain. The average coffee in America prior to September 2023 was $5.89, once the month of October started and the pumpkin spice rolled out all coffee creamers and café bought coffee prices increased. I know this one may be a difficult ask but, your wallet will thank me.
Tip #2 - USE CHRISTMAS LISTs
This one is an old time tradition that our "New-to-adulting" generation has forgotten. Asking your loved ones for a Christmas list will take the anxiety out of not getting "the Perfect Gift." This will give you an idea of the persons desires and stop you from seeing an unhappy face on Christmas day because, you got your sixteen year old niece a Barbie doll.
"56.60% of Americans will regift or donate unwanted gifts, while 42.34% choose to return or exchange them for something they like.." – Magestore- The World's #1 POS system
Tip #3 - personalize it
We all have family members and friends that like things on the more expensive side. When that happens, gift them something that is unique to them or their hobbies. This is when you can use the Christmas list along with your detective skills to review their social media to figure out their hobbies or special interests. This is honestly one of my favorite things to do during the holiday season or for birthdays. In the past I have done this several times to figure out the best gifts to get my friends and family. Especially for the ones that have niche specific interests like vintage music bands, obsessive tv show addictions, or all things K-Pop.
Tip #4 - Play gift games
There are a few gift games that keep your funds in your account and out of the checkout lane. White Elephant and Secret Santa are time old classics that allow you to make one purchase for one person. Which is perfect when you are on a budget or planning for a future purchase.
Most importantly Don't be A GRINCH!
I hope this article gave you easy ways to save during holidays but, don't use them to not give back to others and society. Giving is always easier when you do it from the heart! So keep your heart open and your wallet ajar!
